From depth to balance: the dates to know and what this cycle may mean for your relationships, money and values

Venus has been retrograde since 3 October, and today, 25 October, it moves back from Scorpio into Libra. If love, money or your sense of self-worth have felt under review lately, this is likely part of the reason.
Venus retrograde happens roughly every eighteen months and lasts about six weeks. It has a reputation for bringing back exes and making shopping trips risky. Those things can happen, but I see Venus retrograde differently. It isn’t a time when love or money stops working. It’s a chance to look again at what you value, who you value and how you value yourself.
A retrograde in two signs
This cycle began in Scorpio, a sign associated with trust, intimacy, desire and shared money. Traditionally, Scorpio is a difficult sign for Venus: love here is intense, private and all-or-nothing. The first half of the retrograde may have stirred up questions about who you can rely on, what you really want, or what lies beneath the surface of a relationship or financial arrangement.
From today, Venus is back in Libra, one of its own signs. The focus moves from depth to balance: partnership, fairness, agreements and harmony. Here the question becomes whether your relationships feel fair, and whether you’re keeping the peace at your own expense.
Mercury is retrograde too
Mercury stationed retrograde in Scorpio yesterday, 24 October. From now until mid-November, conversations and agreements are under review alongside love and money. Mercury stations direct on 13 November, followed by Venus shortly after midnight on 14 November (UK time).

The Venus Cazimi: a new Venus cycle
Yesterday, on October 24, Venus passed between the Earth and the Sun. We call this an inferior conjunction, also called the Venus Cazimi. It marks the start of a new Venus cycle, and over the coming weeks Venus will reappear in the morning sky as the morning star.
Think back over the past few days. Did a feeling, a memory, or a conversation show you something about what you want? Write it down and return to it once Venus turns direct.

What Venus retrograde means for your sign
Read your rising sign first, then your Sun sign for another perspective.
Aries
Venus began this retrograde in your eighth house of shared money and trust, where debts, joint finances, or questions of loyalty may have come up. From today, it moves into your seventh house of partnership, putting your closest relationships under review. An ex or former business partner could get back in touch.
Taurus
Your ruling planet is retrograde, so you may feel this cycle more than most. After weeks of focus on your relationships, Venus now moves into your sixth house of work and wellbeing. Notice where you over-give to your job or other people while your own care slips.
Gemini
Venus moves from your sixth house of work into your fifth house of romance, creativity and pleasure. A past love, an old hobby or a creative project you abandoned may come back to mind. With your ruler, Mercury, also retrograde, take time to think before reaching out.
Cancer
After stirring up questions about romance and self-expression, Venus moves into your fourth house of home and family. You may feel the urge to redecorate, rearrange or spend more time with family. Enjoy it, but check the details before committing to expensive changes at home.
Leo
Venus moves from your fourth house of home into your third house of communication, siblings and neighbours. Messages from the past may reappear, and everyday relationships may need a softer tone. A simple, kind conversation could repair more than you expect.
Virgo
Venus moves into your second house of money and self-worth while your ruler, Mercury, is retrograde in your third house of communication. This is a good time to review your budget, cancel forgotten subscriptions and reconsider the rates you charge if you have your own business.
Libra
Your ruling planet is retrograde in your own sign from today, so this is the most personal Venus cycle of your year. Your image, your needs and the way you show up in relationships are all under review. If you’re tempted by a dramatic change of look, give yourself a little time first.
Scorpio
This retrograde began in your sign, and both the Venus Cazimi and Mercury’s retrograde station happened there yesterday. Now Venus moves into your twelfth house of rest and solitude. Past relationships may surface in memories or dreams, and you may want more time alone than usual.
Sagittarius
Venus moves from your twelfth house of solitude into your eleventh house of friendships and community. Old friends may get in touch, and you may notice which groups still feel like home and which no longer fit.
Capricorn
Venus moves from your eleventh house of friendships into your tenth house of career and reputation. Relationships with bosses, clients or colleagues come into focus, and so does the question of how you’re paid and valued. Gather the facts before making big professional decisions.
Aquarius
Venus moves from your tenth house of career into your ninth house of travel, study and beliefs. Travel plans may shift, and courses or publishing projects could need revising. You may also question long-held ideas about love, money or what a good life looks like.
Pisces
Venus moves from your ninth house of travel and beliefs into your eighth house of shared money and intimacy. Joint finances, debts and conversations about trust may need attention. Take your time and check the details of any financial agreement.
