The 12th House Planets Interpretation

12th house planets

The 12th house alongside the 4th and the 8th house is the house of karma, and the planets found here have great karmic connections.

By Justyna Rossy

If you have more than one planet in the 12th house, it means that you had various experiences in previous lifetimes. In this lifetime, you may become interested in searching for the unknown or learning about spirituality and your life purpose. If you don’t have any planets in the 12th house, then you should look at the sign on the cusp of this house, its ruler placement within the chart and the aspects it makes to other planets or angles. You may also want to check in the interpretation of the planet that rules your 12th house and whether you can relate to its interpretation. Suppose your 12th house is in Cancer, the ruling planet would be the Moon. In this case, you should read the interpretation of the Moon in the 12th house.

The Natal Sun in the 12th house

The Sun in the 12th house indicates that you are an old soul. In the previous life (lives) you were probably someone famous or important, who lived in the public eye like a royal or a leader. Therefore, in this life, it will be quite easy or natural for you to get a similar position or become a person with authority, but you should carefully look for the sphere in which you will show your individuality. Your soul chose to incarnate and stay behind the scenes. That may be a hard lesson to learn for someone who had everything she/he wanted to be done immediately.

The 12th house is the hidden sphere of the chart and with this, in mind, you may find that as someone with the Sun placed here, you dislike direct Sun and may prefer to stay in the shade. When it comes to crowded places, you may also feel drained quickly and need time alone after, in order to regain your energies.

People with this placement are like energy sponges and by no means should feel guilty or strange when if they have a need to withdraw. It is actually essential for them to stay in peaceful and calm places where they can relax and release tension.

The Sun here could also indicate karma with the father. Often the father figure was emotionally detached during childhood or unavailable for some other reason.

You may find it challenging to control the inner compulsion of guiding or teaching others.

When you were in your mother’s womb, you felt unique, and this could be because your parents were very excited and couldn’t wait to meet you.

The Natal Moon in the 12th house

With the Moon in the 12th house, there is a karmic debt with the mother figure, and also about mothering and being a mother. This kind of soul may have previously been for instance too overprotective (Moon in Cancer), too authoritarian (Moon in Capricorn) or too cold and withdrawn (Moon in Aquarius). Whatever the scenario, the Moon in this house strongly suggests a prior life emotional connection with the mother, but not only in a positive way but also in the negative. The mother figure could have been a reason for some disappointment. In the present life the relationship with the mother for a person with the 12th house Moon is often challenging. The child feels emotionally neglected and under nurtured. The goal is for the child and the mother to find a common understanding and break the cycle of karma through forgiveness.

The Moon is the planet that rules our feelings and emotions and oftentimes people with this placement react very emotionally to everything that they do; they are also often moody and capricious, resulting in an inability to understand their emotions.

Furthermore, with this lunar placement, one may find it difficult to control the internal need to handle everything very emotionally.

When you were in your mother’s womb, you were truly aware of your mother. You felt everything that she felt and everything that she experienced.
